Through Shen和oah University, Blue Ridge Community College, Piedmont Virginia Community College 和 several accreditated online college courses, 费什伯恩 offers students the opportunity to earn college credit. Students enrolled in a dual enrollment course receive both high school credit 和 up to six semester credit hours of college credit for each course. Each 双录取 class adds one full point to the grade point value. Thus, an A would earn 5 points. 双录取 courses consist of a full high school academic year of work 和 are comparable to courses in colleges 和 universities. Students who take a 双录取 course, 和 earn a grade of “C” or better, will earn college credit.
双录取 \ 英语 \ Creative Writing
In-depth reading 和 extensive writing are the basis for this college preparatory course. Weekly themes of no less than 500 words include discussions of novels, 戏剧, 诗歌, 和 short stories as selected by the instructor. Students may also write 诗歌, short stories, or 戏剧 in place of some weekly themes. The class studies novels 和 戏剧, 和 each student writes a term paper. The course includes an introduction to linguistics 和 a history of the American 英语 language 和 grammar. The course is open only to seniors with the recommendation of the junior 英语 instructor. This is a dual enrollment course in which the student earns both high school 和 college credit.
双录取 \ Biology
DE Biology is a two-semester course offered in coordination with Shen和oah University through which recommended seniors can receive credit for BIOL101/102 while still enrolled in high school. The course will cover basic concepts 和 applications pertinent to biology at a detail consistent with what one would expect from an introductory college course. Topics covered will include the scientific process, 生态, 细胞生物学, 遗传学, 进化, classification of organisms, population 遗传学, 和 the human impact on the environment. Scientific reading/writing will be introduced, 和 lab activities will be submitted in a lab report format.

This two-semester course is a survey of United States history from the colonial period to the modern era. Students read primary sources extensively 和 complete in-depth semester projects on selected topics. This is a dual enrollment course in which cadets receive both high school 和 college credit through Shen和oah University.
